Southern Cross River Advocates for a Northern Governor come 2019

Ntufam Hilliard Eta, National Vice Chairman (South South) of the APC who hails from southern Senatorial District of Cross River State has appealed to Cross Riverian to give the North a second chance to produce the next governor of the state come 2019.

Etta, who made this appeal Saturday at the investiture of award/recognition of distinguished and deserving party leaders held in Obudu at the instance of the Obudu chapter of the APC said '' Some people are saying because the PDP government of Ben Ayade has failed, we should not consider the north in the opportunity of governance of Cross River State''.

''We do not belong to that school of thought. We can't say that the failure of a man is the failure of an entire community. You can still find very capable hands for the task ahead because we need to recreate what has been destroyed.'' He said.

Those currently canvassing change of initial rotation plan of the governorship of Cross River State based on geographical expression are better advised to drop the agenda as the party has vehemently rejected the idea of moving the governorship from the Northern Senatorial District of the state to the Southern Senatorial District until 2023.

For him, Ayade's failure has become an open window for the APC to prevail in the political turf using that failure of the PDP as a slogan to woo the electorate from repeating the mistake of 2015 when they gave their mandate to Ayade in error.

According to him, the crowd at the investiture/recognition ceremony was convincing evidence that the people of the state have realized their past mistakes and are now ready to go the way of the broom which is ready to meet their expectations in the governance process.

Interestingly, Eta who hails from the southern senatorial district of the state and who holds the highest party office in the state has not only exonerated himself from the implications of going ahead with such an 'evil' machination but has equally fulfilled his role and responsibility as a true democratic leader who means well for the people of the state.

It is therefore important that our leaders should give heed to the voice of reason so that Cross River State will under the watch of the APC experience restoration of its lost glory in the comity of states in Nigeria.
