His Excellency, The Executive and Golden Governor of Cross River
State, Senator Professor Ayade
Benedict has again reiterated his commitment to the youth and
students of Cross River State origin studying in higher institutions, to
commence award of scholarships in the next three weeks.
He stated this
while addressing a cross section of students and youth volunteers who were at
the Margaret Ekpo international Airport, Calabar, to welcome him on his return
from a business trip abroad.
The visibly impressed Governor at the turnout of youth at the airport, expressed confidence in his commissioner for youth and sports, Comrade Asu Okang, "I trust my commissioner for youth, and therefore want you to watch out for us in the next three weeks, I am a Talk-and-do-Governor, there shall be a massive award of scholarships throughout the state".

Prof Ayade who
was very emotional at some point of his speech said "in addition, we shall
within the second quarter of next year commence yet another programme tagged "lean on me"
"A
program that will give me the opportunity to interact face to face with as many
youth as possible at the stadium, know their personal problems and solve them
one after another".

Earlier on while welcoming the Governor, the President of National
Association of Cross River State students (NACRISS WW), Comrade Caleb Obaji,
and that of the student's Union Government, CRUTECH chapter Comr. Francis Diwa
Osang said the purpose of the solidarity rally was to thank Governor Ayade
for keeping the promise he made to the students earlier on the 27th of may 2017
by the release of two brand new 18-seater buses to the unions amongst other
giant strides of his administration especially in the area of youth engagement
in governance.
Governor Ayade
in his characteristic nature gave one million naira to the students and youth
and additional five hundred thousand naira to the youth volunteers who had
served in the just concluded NASAJ /CJN games in Calabar.
