Cross River to host National Judiciary Games

The Cross River state government has said all is now set to host this year's edition of the National Judiciary games in the state.

According to a release by the state commissioner for Youth and Sport Development, Comr. Asu Okang, the event is expected to kick off on the 21st of August, 2017.

The commissioner also added that the event which will bring together 1500 athletes and officials that will be participating in bout 10 different sports will also afford members of the public the opportunity to sell their wares such as food, drinks, snacks etc.

The commissioner also disclosed that the inaugural planing meeting in preparation for the sporting event had already taken place in his office.

His statement reads in part:

Yes! Cross River to host National Judiciary games with expected 1500 athletes and officials to participant in 10 sport.

Our people can take advantage to sell their food, water, drinks and Wao! our economy will blossom while the games last. He said

In my opinion I think Cross River State and the Ministry of Youth and sport development has missed it once again.

Of what use is a sporting event hosted in our state with no significant impact on the life and economy of both the state and the people.

The question is, how many talents of cross river state origin will be discovered? How much drinks and food will be sold according to the honorable commissioner that will lead to economy boast as the commissioner claims?

I think that is what we should be looking out for when accepting to host subsequent events?
