A social media activist and
Mystic Master popularly known as Master Ray has taken to his social media
handle to question the state of affairs of the home town of the digital
governor of Cross River State, Prof. Sen. Ben Ayade.
Master Ray Ugba Morphy who used the
power of poetry to air out his view and threw a jab at the governor, noted with
dismay that, a place that once used to be a choice land of nature, filled with
hope and life has now been sent to relegation by her son.
‘ Obudu, choice land of nature
Home of my friends and I
Hitherto full of hope n life
But now your son has sent you
Back to the middle ages’
Home of my friends and I
Hitherto full of hope n life
But now your son has sent you
Back to the middle ages’
Note, Ray in his poem did
not say your sons but he specifically and deliberately used the singular word
son and not plural sons. One will think he would have attributed the backward
state of Obudu to her sons and daughters but he decided to single out a
particular son.
Who could this son be?
Ray went further to point
out that the roads in Obudu are capable of aborting dreams and pregnancies as
well as breaking the waist of its users due to its bad nature, gloomy nights with no light.
In the second line of stanza
three the author told a story of darkness that looms over Obudu due to the
outage of power supply that has existed almost from the inception of the present
Administration.
Recall that it was alleged
that Ayade had ordered that Obudu be disconnected from the main source of power
supply with a promise to build an independent source of a 24/7power supply for the
community, only for the promise to be cut short after about three months of power
supply when Ayade generator (as it was then called) broke down. Till date the
community has not seen light again.
It seems it is the above story that
the author painted in just one Phrase.
… Gloomy nights of no light
Master Ray Ugba Murphy
demonstrated a high mastery of poetry skills in his poem as he stylishly throws
heavy punches at Ayade.
‘Old roads scrapped, new roads not
in sight
Clean city now a dump at every turn
Clean city now a dump at every turn
And I weep’
Master Ray again expressed disappointment
at the level of filt and dirt in Obudu as well as its bad roads. Not minding
that it the place of abode of a professor who is the governor of the entire
state.
Ray was not alone in this
displeasure as other facebook users also expressed their view concerning the
roads in Obudu
Below is a screenshot of
their comment below his thread.
‘But it shall be well so says my
Soul
WEEP NO MORE
WEEP NO MORE
Finally Master Ray prophesies to the land Obudu.’
Says it shall be well… weep
no more
Is the author saying that Ayade
shall be removed for another will be take care of Obudu come in or is he saying
that Ayade shall listen to the weeping of his home town and restore her glory?
Ray’s Poem reads in full:
#Beautiful Obudu
Who did you offend?
Who did this thing to you?
Who did this thing to you?
Obudu, choice land of nature
Home of my friends and I
Hitherto full of hope n life
But now your son has sent you
back to the middle ages
Home of my friends and I
Hitherto full of hope n life
But now your son has sent you
back to the middle ages
Abortion causing waist breaking roads
Gloomy nights of no light
Old roads scrapped, new roads not in sight
Clean city now a dump at very turn
Gloomy nights of no light
Old roads scrapped, new roads not in sight
Clean city now a dump at very turn
And I weep
Lovely days in a lovely land of peace
Now all gone because vandals sway
But it shall be well so says my
Soul
WEEP NO MORE
WEEP NO MORE
