Obla Fires back at ditractors, says I have not started and you are Scared Stiff

The embattled Chairman of the  Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Okoi Obono-Obla has fired back at his percived detractors, calling them  defamers and slander mercenaries, TDN can Report.

According to a statement on social media accredited to the chief, He said these defamers and slander mercenaries can not stop him from carrying out his official duties. stating that his panel has not even started work and they are already afraid.

The statement reads in full:

A planted media story in a desperate and frenzied manner calculated to impugn my hard earned integrity will not cause me to back down. One of such stories planted by matrons and patrons of corruption enterprise is that I collected 1.2 billion from politically exposed former governors. Gosh! The allegation is hollow as it is silly.

The Panel has not even taken off and some people are so scared stiff that they plant such spurious and ludicrous rubbish to cripple …….. President Buhari’s anti-corruption efforts.

What do I need such enormous amount of money for? I am a largely contented man. I also married a humble and God fearing woman who is an accomplished professional in her own right! I have been able through hard work to provide for my family and build a house in my town, Calabar and Abuja from law practice. I am content. What I crave to offer my people is service!

If I craved for stupendous wealth I would not have elected to be a human rights activist and lawyer in 1991 when I finished my National Youth Service Corps! I am ever ready to contend with these agents of lucifer and I have therefore instructed my lawyers to sue The Pilot…. and any media house that allows itself to be used to plant fake stories impugning my integrity!

I repeat defamers and slander mercenaries will not intimidate or deter me from carrying out my responsibilities.

I was appointed to do a job and I remain committed to the trust shown in my appointments, my tasks at hand and most importantly my conscience!

Chief Okoi Obono-obla

Recall that TDN had earlier in her report of 5th November reported how the SFG had written to the embattled Chairman of the  Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Okoi Obono-Obla to forthwith restrain from carrying out duties patterning to his Office
and in a related development, TDN had on the 6th of November, reported how Obla insisted that he can only be fired by the president.

TDN believes all these had boiled down to Obla's present stand that his distractors cant stop him.
If Obla's claim of some power base who are afraid of his determination to join the President in fighting Corruption are behind his purported removal from office, one will have to ask  if really true that President Buhari wants to fight Corruption?
