Dr. Ayade assist Northern Cross Riverians with free medicals

The wife of Cross River  state Governor, Dr. Linda Ayade, has again demonstrated her humanitarian attitude as she organized a free medical outreach for the people of Obudu LGA of the state. 

The week-long free medical outreach anchored by the Mediatrix Development Foundation with doctors from the FaithCare Foundation, Abuja has indeed restored life through different treatments and surgeries. 

Speaking shortly after participating in some surgeries at the General Hospital Obudu, Dr. Linda Ayade said the essence of providing free medical treatments to Cross Riverians was born out of her passion to use her profession as a medical practitioner to reach out to the less privileged in the society.

Dr. Mrs. Ayade further stated that in her experience she has identified that poverty is one of the reasons why people die from illnesses that could easily treated and managed in Nigeria. Adding that as a daughter of the soil and the wife of the state Governor, she decided to compliment the effort of the state government in the area of effective health care service delivery.

Speaking on the timing of the event, Dr. Ayade said the medical outreach programme started long before she became first lady and that the current outing was not intended to garner support for her husband.

Speaking on behalf of the FaithCare Foundation, Dr. Dele commended the philanthropy of the governor's wife saying her attitude towards the wellbeing of the people is second to none and called on other state Governors' wives to emulate her passion for her people. In their comments, the Director-General, Primary Health Care Development Agency and the Chief Operating Officer of MDF, Mr. Jeffery Adamade lauded the services of the governor's wife to her people saying they feel fulfilled to have her as the wife of the governor and salute her burning desire and love for Cross Riverians.

On the part of some beneficiaries of the free medical outreach who had undergone different surgeries, they prayed God to bless the Governor's wife for her show of love and called for the return of Professor Ayade for a second term.

Highlights of the free medical outreach was eye care services, dental services, numerous surgeries.
