| 18 March 2018| Okan Peter

Report reaching me has it that at least five Cross Riverians, including a teacher are feared dead and properties worth millions of naira has been destroyed in a renewed communal clash between Ebony state and neighboring communities in Obubra Local Government of Cross River State.

According to the report, two communities; Idia and Okpetumor both in Ebonyi state had mobilized fully armed men with the instruction to kill anybody at sight and destroy properties as they ambushed the affected Obubra communities.

The report also disclosed that the armed men who were on a single mission of destroying and capturing the entire community succeeded in invading four Obubra communities which include; Ofonekom, Ogamana, Idoru Ofonmana, Igitum and were gradually advancing towards Ogurude.

According to the report, a sign post has already been hoisted in the riverine communities in Obubra to show ownership of the land.

As at press time we couldn't establish communication with the police DPO in area.

Almost all the affected communities have been deserted as almost the entire Obubra urban have been thrown in disarray.

Recall that both neighbouring communities had some times last year, been involved in communal clash with the governors of Cross River State and and his colleague in Ebonyi  wading into the matter in an aim to finding lasting solution to the recurrent clash.
