IWD2018 Dr Betta Edu Canvases for a Female President; implores women to take their destiny into their hands

Director General of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Betta Edu On March 8th at Transcorp Hotel during the International day to celebrate women envisaged on the need for women to build their capacity to the highest level where no one can question their competency.

Dr Edu said the solution Nigeria need is a woman at the top of affairs that will bring the needed change to the country as women have so much to contribute to development of the society.

"We can aspire for higher positions in the society if only we dream big and write down our dreams for even God has mandated us to do so. Dont stop at writing work  towards it said the DG.

She said women should learn to take their destiny in to their hands, stand up and speak for their right.

According to her women struggle everyday in the hospital by going through different medical complications and if anything negative happens what the woman get is a big sorry or death. Women should learn to make right decision about their health on time; this will go a long way to reduce maternal mortality.

She concluded by saying she will not be tired of  encouraging women to improve on what they are doing because life is like the military which every woman answers yes sir, the treatment and expectations are same for men and women.

2018 International Women Day with the theme; Press for progress had in attendance Mrs Rosemary Eneji  who representated the Governor's Wife,  Her Excellency Dr Linda Ayade, Honorable Commissioner of Women Affairs, Mrs Stella Odey, Honorable Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Barr (Mrs) RoseMary Archibong and Heads of the Contributive Partners; CUSO, UNFPA, GPI, After School Initiative, Development Options.

This meeting came right after Dr Edu had the 1000 female match at the University of Calabar to inspire young girls to achieve excellence!
