Speaker John Gaul's Unpopularity floods social media as he celebrates birthday

|16 March 2018 | Ukorebi Esien

The speaker Cross River State House of Assembly Barr. John Gaul Lebo has been said to be very unpopular even among members of his immediate constituency.

This came in when a University lecturer and social media experts Mr. Inyali Peter,  took a swipe at the speaker, alleging that the speaker made a post on Facebook which lasted over 24 hours without any commiserate engagements such as likes, shares and comments befitting a post from a speaker.

Mr. Peter who was not the only one who shared this sentiment also observed that the post which was showcasing the speaker's project in his constituency lasted for over five hours without attracting any engagement.

According to Mr. Peter,  'Speaker John Gaul has become so unpopular to the point that his post can last for 24 hours on facebook without just three likes or comments. What a shame!'

in a similar post, mr. peter displayed sreenshots of post from Cross River State House of Assembly Speaker, John Gaul Lebo official page with the accompanying statement 'Five hours later even when he's announcing the projects he has purportedly done, no single like, comment or even reshare by his constituents.
My Abi brothers and sisters, is this how unpopular this very intelligent young man we all had high hopes on has become?'

In a related post by another social media strategist and blogger-in-chief of NegroidHaven, Mr. Efio-Ita Nyok, the speaker was accused of romancing with the executive arm of the Cross River State Government to the detriment of his colleagues.

Nyok's post reads in full:

'Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo... Under his watch, the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly has evolved into an extension of the Executive arm of government in Cross River.

He's the poster boy of the state Executive.

Be that as it may, Apy birthday Mr Speaker who speaks for only the governor, the co-Governor and the like.

So sorry it's coming this late. But, it's better than never.
