Abi/Yakurr 2019: Wofia rolls out constituency charter, proposed projects

A youthful but dogged and strong contender for the Abi/Yakurr Federal House of Representatives seat,  Engr. Wofia Ewa has over the weekend release a set of documents which he refers to as his constituency charter for the 2019 electoral campaign.

Aside the charter,  Ewa also published  a set of proposed project he intends to execute should he be elected to represent the people in the Federal House.

Presenting the charter,  Ewa noted that the 'Charter will convey the Objectives and hopefully, the Force of a Social Contract, and not at all a list of Promises'.

'The Constituency Charter which includes our Complete Manifesto, our proposed Legislative Proposals, our proposed Projects/Human Capital Development Programmes (30/70), our proposed Performance Objectives and measurable Key Performance Indicators, and most importantly, our Declaration/Seal of Mandate!!!'. He added

Below is the full detail of Ewa's statement while presenting the charter:

HE WEPCo 2019 CONSTITUENCY CHARTER.

Right from INDEPENDENCE and the inception of Democracy in Nigeria, young people have played massive roles, charting the very course that we currently struggle to maintain.

These young people - some of whom were Awolowo (37),  Okotie-Eboh (27), Akintola (36),  Balewa (34), Ahmadu Bello (36),
Enahoro (27), Pat Utomi (27), MT Mbu (23), etc - took very bold steps in engaging and confronting history at the very moment it was ripe to make a bold entry.

Even with a scuttled Democracy, our dear Nation largely depended on the very young military crop of M.Mohammed (28),
T. Danjuma (28), I. Babangida (25), J. Garba (23), Sani Abacha (23), M. Yar'adua (23), Y. Gowon (32), Ojukwu (33), Obasanjo (29) and Buhari (24) who stepped forward with the boldness reminiscent of Nation Builders, even despite the eventual contrasting stories.

History has a record of every single event, and while there is a LEFT perspective, there is also a corresponding RIGHT perspective. One thing that is sure, is that you can NEVER find true change by being a spectator, at best an 'active spectator', but only by #GettingInvolved.

We cannot CHANGE our worsening conditions caused by unresolved generational Communal Disputes, by being spectators.

We cannot CHANGE the worsening conditions of our fathers and mothers; the great Senior Citizens of our dear Nation, by only observing and having a critique.

We cannot CHANGE and evolve with the demands of the 21st Century, when our Education Sector is AS IS.

There is a lot WE CAN CHANGE, and this CHANGE does not end or even begin with Institutions of Governance, but FIRST with the Character and Competence of the Citizens so preferably chosen to REPRESENT THE PEOPLE.

At a time as this when we would have had to enjoy 20 years of unbroken Democracy (by 2019), it would seem as the most ripe moment to review our performance collectively, and not just consolidate the gains of past administrations, but EVOLVE our democracy and especially every aspect of Communal Life, where our people can #LiveLife without Communal Disputes, Cultism, Poor Educational Standards and Poor Senior Citizens Welfare, amongst others, but enjoy a general well-being of a PEOPLE poised for GREATNESS and are truly aware of the expectations.

At the Wofai Ewa Parliamentary Campaign Organisation (WEPCo), we have developed, over time, a CONSTITUENCY CHARTER which includes our Complete Manifesto, our proposed Legislative Proposals, our proposed Projects/Human Capital Development Programmes (30/70), our proposed Performance Objectives and measurable Key Performance Indicators, and most importantly, our Declaration/Seal of Mandate!!!

This Charter will convey the Objectives and hopefully, the Force of a Social Contract, and not at all a list of Promises.

My name is Wofai Okoi Ewa and I would like to invite you to be a part of HISTORY.

God bless us All.

Wofai
