Speaker Lebo, CRSHA wins international award

The Speaker of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly has emerged best speaker in Nigeria. TDN can boldly report.


The Award which was received by the leader of the Cross River State House of Assembly,  Rt. Hon. Moses Ucheche was presented at The 1st Northern Achievers International Magazine Colloquium, Held yesterday, 23 June at the AREWA House in Kaduna. 



According to the organizers of the event, The award was based on a review of current Legislative activities conducted across the 36 houses of Assembly in Nigeria. 


The speaker's peculiar performance in the area of providing the legal framework for Legislative purpose vehicles to drive the operations of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for the public and private corporations leading to the emergence of Rice city, Calypham etc. 


The Cross River State Legislative direction from 2015 to 2019 which targeted 80 bills in 4 years out which 83 has been proposed and 68 passed in 3 years. 


The Cross River State House of Assembly economy programme and his role as Secretary of the ADHOC committee of the speaker's conference on Constitutional Amendment which resulted in the passage and subsequent Assent to the house of Assembly Autonomy by the president. 


His role as chairman of the speaker's conference committee on Public Accounts.

His role in Legislative Governance which has created a harmonious working relationship between the executive and the Legislature in Cross River State.


In a related development, the Cross River State House of Assembly also won the best House of Assembly in Nigeria Award. the Award was received by the clerk of the house, Elder Barr Bassey Ekpenyong in Kaduna.
