The Head of Abi Local Government Administration in Cross River State, Mr Okon Agbara, has described Mr Dodeye Arikpo, a front line aspirant for the 2019 Cross River Central Senatorial race as a vibrant and resourceful personality, full of energy, intellect and the capacity to represent Cross River Central at the senate.

Agbara said this on Wednesday in Abi local government council headquarters during a courtesy call on him by Mr Arikpo and his team while on a consultative visit to the People's Democratic Party stalwarts, Chapter and Ward executives of the party.

He said that the vibrancy and charisma displayed by Arikpo while in service as the Chief Security Officer to former governor Liyel Imoke, has proven that he is worthy  to be elected into the red chambers of the National Assembly.

According to him, it was time for the youths in Central to garner their support for Arikpo, adding that it was time for the youths to take over the mantle of leadership.

"You are very young and vibrant. I have heard so much about you even before you came here today.

"I can assure you that your ambition is divine because you are very sound, intelligent and bold in the pursuit of your set goals.

"I want you to put people first, they are all you need. I wish you goodluck and the very best in all your life endeavours", he said.

Responding, Arikpo told the HOLGA that he was in the race to become the next senator that would represent the people of Cross River Central in the red chambers.

According to him, his desire to get elected into the red chambers was to uplift the welfare and well-beign of his constituents by creating opportunities for the young, women and men to improve on their socio-economic life.

He said that power should be seen as a "tool for dedicated service and representation and not as a ticket for oppression"

"We have given people power before, some of them became hard to reach and accessible. Some of them, each time they ever won any election, it became very difficult for even their constituents to see them.

"We cannot entrust them with our mandate anymore. It is time for fresh ideas and new partnership.

"Some of them have not been consistent in the party, we must be watchful and carefull who we give our mandate to", he said.

He urged the people of Abi to vote rightly for the people they can hold in-trust, adding that it was time for the youths to take over.

He advised the people not to follow money politics, but rather, follow leaders who have track records of integrity, accountability, selflessness, and reputation.
