The State Government says henceforth, it will take the war to the doorsteps of criminals, war-mongers and those fomenting trouble in the State.

The Acting Governor, Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu State this, in a crucial meeting with Heads of Local Government Administration – (HOLGA) in Government House, Calabar.

He explained that, the meeting was important because of security issues bordering on communal crises, intra and interstates boundaries disputes, kidnappings and armed robbery, as well as cultism across the 18 Local Government Areas.

Professor Esu pointed out that, all HOLGAs should take charge as Chief Security Officers and be ready to report on any breach of security threat to the appropriate authority.
The Acting Governor directed all Local Government administrations to liaise with the relevant security agencies to fish out those criminals and trouble makers in their areas for the law to take its course on them.

He frowned at the attitude of some Heads of Local Government Administrators who do not reside in their Councils, but goes there only at their convenience and advised them to desist from such conduct.

Professor Esu however commended some HOLGAs for being security conscious and taking the lead in handling security issues during crisis period.
