A Cross River state born, Abuja based clergy know has Pastor Ajibola Ubi, has warned the digital governor of Cross River state, HE Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade not to defect to the Ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) if he must win the 2019 gubernatorial elections. TDN can report.

The Clergy who made the statement via a social media post said anyone who is close to the governor should tell him not to defect except he wants to lose his second term bid. Stating that the governor’s defection to APC may secure him victory via rigging, but his tenure will last for only six months.
“… If you're close to Ayade, tell him that if he defects to APC, he will lose his second term bid”. He warned
“Ayade, if you defect to APC, you will only win by rigging and you will stay in office for 6 months before the court throws you out, Read my lips”. The Clergy further threatened.

Pastor Ubi who said it could be understood if the likes of Godswill Akpabio decamps because of the eagle eyed Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC ) watching and waiting for the right time to catch up on him, wondered what the Cross River state governor’s fear would be for him to contemplate defection?
“But if Ayade defects, what is he afraid of?  Well, I know he's afraid Buhari might rig the election for an APC candidate as he did in Ekiti. But there are certain foolish fears one should not entertain. And I must submit, the fear that Buhari will rig Cross River State elections for an APC candidate is a foolish fear. And I don’t expect the caliber of Ayade to accommodate or express such fears.” The clergy concluded.
