Ayade’s Chief of Staff Empowers Cross-Riverians

The chief of staff to the Cross River state Governor, Honourable Martin Orim has embarked on an empowerment program aimed at further extending dividends of democracy to the people of Cross River state.

Flagging off the program at Ukpe and Alege/Ubang wards last Saturday, Honourable Martin Orim said, "This gesture is part of my little effort to further the good works His Excellency Professor Ben Ayade has been doing in the last three years." The program is been executed through his Foundation, G.F.O Foundation.  The empowerment program has a medical outreach designed to help the less privileged in the society through detection, diagnosis and treatment of many life-threatening diseases including eye problems.

Another arm of the project is the distribution of items such as motorcycles, cars, sewing machines and food items among many others to the people of the ward. The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ukpe ward went home with a brand new car.

The beneficiaries were full of gratitude to God and expressed their heartfelt joy and thanks to the chief of staff for his kind gesture. One of them, Mr. Theo Agbi who got tricycle said, "I was riding a commercial motorcycle, but with this, my life has gotten better". He also thank Governor Ayade for appointing Martin  even as he lauded his contributions to Ayade's government.

Hon, Martin in his closing remarks told the people that they should expect more from him and the governor.  He also took the opportunity to take a swipe at those he called "opportunistic politicians", trying to contest against the governor. He reminded the people that they had never had it so good, even as he solicited their support for the governor if they want more dividends of democracy.

The medical outreach by the Foundation is to last one week beginning from last Saturday.
