DISCLAIMER: I am contesting for a legislative seat and not speakership - Hon Bisong

Hon. Hillary Bisong, representing Boki 2 in the CRSHA

The member representing Boki II state constituency in the Cross River House of Assembly has disassociated himself from a trending online post made by one Eliman Eliman from Boki 1 State Constituency, that he (Hilary Bisong) is the preferred candidate to emerge Speaker in the 9th legislative assembly.

The honorable house member who made the disclaimer through a statement made available to TDN made it clear that it will be unthinkable to imagine that he is contesting for the speaker of the 9th Assembly when he is yet to win an election into the 9th assembly.

"I want to state clearly that I'm contesting for the seat of Boki II state constituency and not for the seat of Speaker. Power comes from God and not man". He said.

"Eliman Eliman has been one of my critics, getting to read this post from him seems surprising. I wish to re-affirmed my position that I'm vieing for a second term in office and not vieing for Speaker". He reaffirmed.

Below is the social media statement from Eliman Eliman:

Hon. Hilary Bisong who had been a vocal representative in the state house is adjudged to be one of the best legislators the 8th legislative assembly has produced in Nigeria. Insiders hinted TDN that the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly has won several awards as the best Assembly in Nigeria and this could be traced to some magnificent ideas emanating from the young handsome lawmaker from Boki 2.

While disclaiming the statement made by Elima whom the lawmaker described as one of his number one critics, the erudite and purpose-driven assemblyman reaffirmed his commitment to his duty and the people of his constituency. "On behalf of the good people of Boki II, I wish to state clearly that I will continue to do my very best in giving them a better representation". He concluded.
