The invasion of NASS by DSS is a rape on our democracy - Legislative Hopeful

A front line Cross River State House of Assembly hopeful, seeking to represent Yakurr 1 state constituency, Bar. Ikpi Ubanga Eyong has in very strong words totally condemned the DSS invasion of the National Assembly.

The hopeful lawmaker made this known in a statement made available to TDN. In the statement, Bar. Ikpi said the act is a rape on our budding democracy and should be condemned by all, stating that if something is not done quickly, the country may be dragged into anarchy by desperate and power drunk men.

"This is a rape on our democracy, our democracy is being threatened, the struggle of our heroes past has been thrown to rubble and if something is not done quickly, this desperate, power drunk men will lead this country to anarchy." He asserted.

The young and energetic grass root politician, therefore, called on well-meaning Nigerians and the  international community to rise up and condemn this irresponsible act, to investigate, reveal and prosecute the perpetrators of this dastard act who purportedly gave order from above to truncate our democracy."

The statement reads in full:

"I deeply frown at and totally condemn the siege laid by the Agents of the DSS and Nigeria Police at the National Assembly complex, sighting that they got Orders from above to do so.

This is a rape on our democracy, our democracy is being threatened, the struggle of our heroes past has been thrown to rubble and if something is not done quickly, this desperate, power drunk men will lead this country to anarchy.

We call on well-meaning Nigerians and the international community to rise up and condemn this irresponsible act, investigate, reveal and prosecute the perpetrators of this dastard act, who purportedly gave order from above to truncate our democracy.
