Another On-Air Personality and a former councilor who represented Ward 5 in the Calabar South Legislative council, in the 2010- 2013 legislative period, Hon. Anthony Duke has declared to again represent the good people of Calabar South 1 state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly come 2019 riding on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Declaring his intent before the Chapter and ward leadership of his party in Calabar South, Hon. Duke said he has come as the little David with the capacity to defeat Hon. Okon Ephraim aka Baba of the PDP who currently sits as the constituency representative in the CRSHA. Duke said he will be a more effective and efficient representative, as he will bring his past experience as a former lawmaker to bare.

The former lawmaker told his party members that having been an experienced legislator and a grassroot politician, he understands the needs and plights of the people and sure knows how to place the cards to get these needs met.

Speaking on why he choose the SDP as a platform to actualize his legislative dreams, Hon. Duke said, as a prophet, an evangelist and a politician, he has seen the future and as such he can't afford to sit on the fence nor remain with the losing team.

'If God has shown you the future, you can't remain with the losing team. God shows you certain things so you can take actions" He said.

Speaking further, Duke said, SDP is the only party in Nigeria that has ever won a free and fair Election in and as such he believes the party will take over from the ward level to national, he said youths all over Nigeria have decided to project SDP. The party is well accepted and embraced, by majority of Nigerian Youths.

Finally he pleaded with the party members to give him their support and send him to the house so he could bring good to his people.

"I have come to tell you that I have an interest to run as the House of Assembly member to represent Calabar South constituency one in the Cross River House of Assembly as you all know, I am one of the few in the party that will be contesting the primaries. I sincerely need your votes I will quickly want to advise that whatever vote you are going to give us during the primaries, let it be out of love because we may not have the money to share as it is obtainable in other parties.

"I had started the cause of speaking on behalf of Calabar South through the a forum called The Better Calabar South Forum and I will continue to speak for Calabar South but you know a voice will be more appreciated especially in this dispensation when it comes with power, so I have come so that you can send me to go and speak more for Calabar South.

"When you send me there, we will not rely on revenue point, revenue point will make you have issues with touts. Revenue point is a great form of distraction. I will on a quarterly basis organise a town hall meeting with my constituency to regularly carry out assessment of our activities, challenges and ways of solving them.

"For student, I will initiate a bursary scheme that will assist them in their academic pursuit. I am a simple person and as such I have and will continually operate an Open door policy, I will also initiate a welfare scheme to meet the needs of the less previlleged. I am a loyal and committed party man, I will work with the party structure, I will work with the party structure in every ward.

"Win or loose I will stand by the party, I am that face you need to put on the SDP voter's slip. He concluded.
