A front line contender for the Senatorial seat of Central District of Cross River State, Anthony Bissong Attah has promised Nigerian youths of Cross River Central extraction that his government will be youth-friendly as he pledged not to be a disappointment to them if sent to the Senate. TDN can report.

Making this promise, Tuesday at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport shortly after his return from Abuja where he went to secure his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms under the platform of the Young Peoples Party, YPP.

Mr. Bisong who is likely to be his Party's candidate also advised the youths to stop wearing T-shirts and face caps of people whose time has elapsed and are unwilling to give them a chance to express their leadership might.

"One of the things you have to take home today is that the time has come for the youths to stop wearing t-shirts for elders, to stop wearing caps for elders, to stop bending your backs for them to climb and when they get there they forget you. He said.

He went further to say, "The advantage you have by supporting me is that I belong to your generation and I can't disappoint you.

"The consequence is that if in my first tenure I don't deliver, you are going to retire me early.
I had given you my words before and I am restating here that I will never disappoint my generation".

The senatorial hopeful revealed that he ambition was born out of the desire to give the youth a voice as by this singular act, Youthful representation has been birthed in the state.

"My senatorial ambition is not about me but about you. Some people of my age in Cross River State can't vie for councillorship because of the docile nature of our youths.

" I want my ambition to be a challenge to all of you to know that the set time is now.

"From today youthful representation has berthed. The person standing before you here is not boasting about age. I'm forty by God's grace and probably the youngest Senatorial aspirant in Cross River State. My greatest excitement today is that all of you here belong to my generation. The advantage you have in supporting me is that I can't disappoint you". He added.

He promised to set up six liaison offices across the six local government areas that makes up the district. According to Attah with this, there may be no need to contact him directly but have their needs consistently met by these liaison officers. He also talked about commercialising the rubber potential in Yakurr, build an international ultra-modern library in Ikom, insecurity, etc.
