Guber race 2019: PDP denys Udayi clearance as he heads to court

| 27 September 2018 | Ukorebi Esien

According to report from Primetimevoice a leading contender for the PDP's gubernatorial ticket in Cross River State, Dr.  Paul Udayi has been denied party clearance despite fullfiling all electoral guidelines as stipulated by both the party constitution and electoral act.

Primetomevoice recalls that It could be recalled that Primetimevoice had before now reported about the PDP screening exercise for Cross River State gubernatorial candidates held in Port Harcourt with the incumbent Governor, Ben Ayade arriving the screening venue late, yet he was still screened last.

Many had put across phone calls to ascertain the validity of the information published as concerned whether they were actually given certificate of clearance. It could also be recalled that two days or so after, Mr. Emmanuel Ibeshi was issued his own certificate of clearance.

According to prinmetimevoice, the National Working Committee of the PDP national has deliberately decided to tow the party witchhunting and voodoo by outrageously denying Dr. Paul Udayi his constitutional rights even after fulfilling every conditions as enshrined in the party's constitution to stand for election in the gubernatorial primary without a cause.

To this end, Dr. Paul Udayi has a slammed a suit against the PDP, his party for excluding him in the forthcoming gubernatorial primary.

Many are of the believe that this may not be unconnected with the alleged information that the incumbent Governor Sen. Ben Ayade had paid so much to deny others the opportunity to oppose him at the primary. Just as many are contending with this huge melodrama, opinions are widespread that the party is set for a last show down in the state should Sen. Ben Ayade be presented with the party's gubernatorial ticket.

One of Dr. Paul Udayi's supporter who spoke with Primetimevoice confirmed the story and added that his principal will do the needful to seek redress in a court of competence jurisdiction, a matter which has already been instituted.

He regrets the action taken by the national as he describes it as childish and non conformising in true democracy. "I don't know what they are even thinking and their actual fear. This is simply making enemies everywhere and everytime he concluded.
