Sen. Owan Enoh and the ethnocentric jingoistic of a Governorship aspirant

As the war of words between supporters of Sen. John Owan Enoh, senator representing the Central Senatorial district of Cross River State and a keen contender for the Gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressive Congress APC and his critics over his alleged ethnic bigotry statement against the Efiks continuous to trend on social media, more facts or Propaganda as some may wish to call it have begin to emerge.

According to a document obtained online by TDN, the governorship hopeful may not after all be a true dedicated Ejagham son as been portrayed by those peddling the news that he had in a meeting rooted for the Ejaghams as against the Efiks where he was specifically said to have told his audience that he does not need the Efik's votes to become Governor of Cross River State.

In the said document obtained by TDN, this new set of Critics or Propagandist reported that the senator who at this critical time has decided to root for the Ejaghams while belittling the Efiks had in time past fought against the same Ejagham people with his blood brother inclusive as he is said to have always denied the Ejaghams of amenities. The statement also said that the senator is yet to deem it necessity to provide a tarred road in his own village anything for them.

The statement reads in full:

SENATOR OWAN ENOH
THE EJAGHAM MAN WHO DOESN'T NEED EFIK VOTES TO BECOME GOVERNOR

He stabbed the first Ejagham Senate Leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, in order to become Senator.

He supported a non-Ejagham person to become Deputy Speaker against an Ejagham son, Hon. Okpokam, in order for himself to become Minority Leader in the Cross River State House of Assembly.

He openly supported Late Dr. Mboto from Obubra for the Office of Provost of Cross River State College of Education against his brother, Prof. A. Owan Enoh.

He has not tarred a single road in Ejagham land till date, yet is busy deceiving Ugep people how he so loves them by tarring roads there. Let him show one development project in Ejagham land that is credited to him.

No Ejagham community has a Palace, yet he built and commissioned one in Obubra.

He fought Dr. Sandy Onoh, an Ejagham son, away from Ministry of Agriculture as Commissioner so that he will not sit over the allocation of Cocoa estates in Ejagham land and gain popularity, but was pleased to see Late Jimmy Aniyom from Biase do so.

After 20 years in politics let Senator Owan Enoh show us one Ejagham person he has given an appointment of significance or has made a millionaire. Let him tell us how many Ejagham sons he has given contracts.

Why has the cream of Etung politics abandoned him?

Col. Pam Ogar (Rtd.)
Dr. Sandy Onoh
Hon. Patrick Ebam Emanghe
Hon. Chris Mbu Ogar
Mr. Collins Ogar
Hon. Joe Ndem
Hon. Pauline Ekuri
Hon. Henry Egbe Ayuk
Hon. Simeon Ntino
Ntufam Odu Oji
Mr. Asu Okang
Hon. Okoma Inyang
Hon. Ogisa Okongor
Hon. Christian Achor Agbor
Hon. John Etim

Hon. Nkoro, his friend, whom he abandoned till death is an Ejagham son.

He hates dogged Hon. Dansuki, because of his potential. It took the grace of God for Dansuki to return to the House. He always destroys people with promise. No one else should be heard but him. Dansuki is an Ejagham son.

He blocked the emergence of Hon. Ebam Emanghe, an Ejagham son, to emerge as State Chairman of PDP. By chance another Ejagham son was given the office to his dismay.

If by his open exclusion of Efiks in his governorship ambition he is hoping to galvanize Atam support, let us all remember that Senator Owan Enoh as member of Cross River State House of Assembly moved the motion for the impeachment of the venerable John Okpa. He destroys everyone else for his inordinate ambition.

Just recently, Senator Owan Enoh single handedly blocked the confirmation of Barr. Okoi Obono Obla as Commissioner of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) in the Senate because he thought such an appointment would give Obono Obla access to funds to nurse any political ambition.

Senator Owan Enoh betrayed the Atam Congress, not out of love for the State but for the House of Reps ticket which he got.

CROSS RIVER STATE REMEMBERS DONALD DUKE

He is an Efik son who did the following:

Appointed non-Efiks his Chief of Staff.

Took Obudu Cattle Ranch to its heights.

Raised Ogoja, Obudu, Ikom and Ugep into developed towns with good road network.

Gave Senator Owan Enoh ticket to the Federal House of Representatives.

Gave the whole Cross River State a sense of pride.

Distributed other key appointments evenly across the State.

AWAY WITH ETHNIC AND DIVISIVE POLITICS. CROSS RIVER STATE HAS GONE PASS THAT.

SENATOR OWAN ENOH CANNOT DECEIVE ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME. SHINE YOUR EYES!

LITTLE MINDS NEVER MAKE GOOD LEADERS.

Blogger's View:

The statement credited to the senator may not have been backed by evidential proves in terms of Audio recordings and other forms of authenticity and as such the senator can deny ever making such profane words and true to it such statement of propaganda should not be peddled without proves and as it stands, I will want to be believe that Owan did not and can not make such statement.

But on the other hand there are persons said to have indicated interest to testify to the fact that they were present at the meeting where the troubled senator aired those words.

And if this be true, and these persons are able to present proves beyond reasonable doubt that Owan made such a statement,  then the senator's gubernatorial ambition and even his political career may be on a downward drift towards extinction except something is quickly done to remedy the mess.

On his part, the senator has not taken this propaganda lightly as he has on every given opportunity struggled to debunk or deny the statement. Recently he was reported to have visited the Palace of the Obong of Calabar in a bid to deny the statement. And the Palace was reported to have given him a listening ear.
