Dr. Paul Udayi, a former stalwat and gubernatorial aspirant on the auspices of the People's Democracy Party, PDP is said to be have concluded plans to fulfill his gubernatorial dreams on the platform of the Young Progressive Party, YPP. Thedailynewsng can authoritatively report.

According to a senior party official, plans have been concluded for the Obudu political heavy weight to fly the party's flag in the forthcoming gubernatorial elections.

It will be recalled that Dr. Udayi was unceremoniously without clearly defined reasons schemed out of the PDP's gubernatorial primary election aspirant list few days to the election.

In another development, a high court sitting in Calabar has placed an injunction on the leadership of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in the state from filing in candidate for the forthcoming general elections nor conduct primary elections for it's aspirants in the state, while asking the Independent Electoral Commission not to accept any candidate from the party.

According to Calabarreporters,  the law suit had been made available to the SDP, but the party neglected the court order by going ahead to conduct a Congress and state Primaries.

In a law Suit No: HC/383/2018 between claimant/applicant, Mr. Etta Onghiri Onghiri and defendants/respondents (1) Social Democratic Party, (2) Mr. Ikpi Eni Ibor (for Himself and on behalf of his Exco of SDP, Cross River State Chapter) and (3) Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) dated 17-09-2018, the Court warned the acclaimed Excos and candidates not to attend the National Convention holding on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Abuja.

Going by this, the gubernatorial bid of Barr. Eyo Ekpo may have suffered a major setback as he is yet to make statement to this effect.

Also among those affected by the Court injunction are the likes of Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo who is said to be gunning for a House of Representative seat to represent Odukpani/Calabar Municipality and Awade Friday, as well as Anthony Duke both running for the Cross River State House of Assembly seat to represent Obanliku and Calabar South 2 respectively.
