President Muhamedu Buhari had Saturday following an executive order ( EO6) barred about 50 Prominent Nigerians from traveling abroad based on some corruption allegations levied against them.

Included in the list of banned Nigerians is of one Professor Innocent Umezulike, a former Enugu State Chief Judge, who was buried last month, is on the list of 50 Nigerians banned by the Federal Government from traveling abroad.

Umezulike, a renowned Professor of Land and Property Law, died in a London hospital on June 26. He was recommended for compulsory retirement by the National Judicial Council in 2016 following petitions against him by an Enugu-based lawyer.

He was later dragged to High Courts in Enugu and Port Harcourt by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and his bank accounts frozen over some of the allegations that brought about his forced exit from the Bench.

This will not be the first time the Present APC led Federal Government in Nigeria will be including dead people list in an official release.

It should be recalled that early this year a similar incidence occurred where over 1400 persons were appointed into Boards and Agencies and about 5 dead persons names were discovered to have found their way into the list.

The list of appointments into the boards of federal agencies and corporations, released then, was enmeshed in controversy after the names of five persons, said to be dead, appeared on it.

The dead persons alleged to be on the list are Senator Francis Okpozo (Delta), Rev. Father Christopher Utau (Benue), DIG Donald Ugbaja (retd), Garba Attahiru (Kaduna) and Umar  Dange (Sokoto).
