The Eagle set to Re-Land as thousand of supporters prepares to receive him

Sen Gershom Bassey who have been Christined by political pundits as 'the Eagle of Cross River State politics' is said to be arriving the state Friday, 23rd November to officially kick start his campaign for a second term into the National Assembly to represent Southern Cross River constituents in the Hallowed red chambers. According to a statement by the media anchor of the reception committee, Mr. Asuquo Bassey Solomon, the distinguished senator who happens to be the vice chairman, house committee on Petroleum Resources (upstream) in the National Assembly is expected back from a medical vacation to the state by 4:30pm at the Magrete Ekpo International airport Calabar and will be received on his arrival by teeming party loyalists, chieftains, supporters and a horde of other wellwishers.

It should be recalled that the senator had to embark on a medical vacation due to the fallout of the just concluded PDP primaries election where the he was said to have been attacked by some political thugs and hoodlums. 

As part of the activities to celebrate his return, the senator is expected to flag off his campaign as he rolls out his scorecard of his first sojourn into the National Assembly to represent the good people of Cross River Sourthern Senatorial District.

In an interview with the media, Mr. Solomon invites all southerners and lovers of the 'Eagle', political support groups, ward and Chapter executive members and their members etc to come out in their numbers to recieve the Eagle as he Re-lands with a renewed strength and vigor that will course an intimidation in the district."
