Violent killings continue in Biase as community seeks President Buhari's help

Over 48hrs since I reported the abduction of more persons from my community in Biase LGA of Cross River state, where dozens were killed last week, to government and security agencies, nothing has been done. Instead, the soldiers deployed after people were killed and over 100 houses razed, have been withdrawn today 9th of December 2018.

Meanwhile, efforts to get the state government and other agencies like SEMA, NEMA and others to provide relief materials to the over 5,000 displaced and affected people of Erei currently scattered around multiple refugee camps in neighbouring communities in Abia and Ebonyi States, have proved abortive.

I hereby call on well-meaning Nigerians to lend their voices to save my people from further deaths and damages.

Recall that the police and government in Cross River state, as well as Nigeria Army Headquarters were dully alerted of the Tuesday/Wednesday attacks over 24hrs before the attacks which led to the violent killing of dozens, while some were beheaded as shown in attached photos, yet they paid deaf ears, only for the police to rush to the media to lie that only 4 people sustained minor injuries. An old woman of about 90 years was also roasted in one of the houses burnt.

It may interest you to know that the government of Cross River state doesn't care about the security of its citizens, as it continues to fail to give the needed support to security agencies in the state to perform their duties.

Over 10 out the 18 LGAs that make up the Cross River state are currently enmeshed in communal clashes, with thousands of lives lost.

I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to kindly declare a state of emergency in Cross River state, over the state of security in the state until something is done.

I also call on security agencies, such as the Nigerian police force headquarters and the Department of state security (DSS) to immediately arrest and prosecute the sponsors and perpetrators of the crisis in Erei, Biase LGA of Cross River state, if peace must return to the zone formally known to be a peaceful zone.

Kindly find attached photos of destruction done in the last few days, and yet authorities are silent!
