2019: Ebrutu APC makes case of marginalisation, insist on Nya Inyang chairmanship

The General Assembly of Ebrutu, All Progressives Congress, APC has called on both the state chapter of the party and the generality of her members in Odukpani Local Government Area to recognize Mr. Nya Inyang as the authentic chapter chairman of Odukpani Local Government Area as she weeps marginalisation sentiment

This is contained in a communique issued after an extraordinary meeting of the group Friday, 11th January 2019. The group noted that it has been marginalised in the scheme of things within the party especially in the area of elective offices stressing that despite it had viable aspirants/candidates who contested for the party's elective offices in the Local Government Area, but it was schemed out when the leadership of the party adopted a method that favoured all candidates from constituency I.

The communique went on to insist that since the former Chapter chairman of the party had resigned, it is only normal and lawful that the vice chairman who happens to be Mr Nya Inyang from Ebrutu, constituency II that have been marginalised to be accepted and confirm has the substantive Chairman of the party inbtgerir chapter.

The communique was signed by 10 Prominent sons and daughters of Ebrutu had the following 5 pionts it hinged on.

1. To deliver embloc votes to President muhammadu Buhari and his vice Professor Yemi Osibanjo in the forthcoming general elections.

2.  To ensure the victory of APC at the polls.

3. That consequent upon the 2 above, our sons and daughters should be appointed  into offices as Ministers, Ambassadors, Secretary to the state government and other key positions.

4. That the acting chairman of Odukpani Local Government area in the person of Mr. Nya Inyang should be made the substantive Chairman.

5. That we hereby reaffirm the earlier agreed nomenclature of zones I and II in Odukpani Apc as against the bloc arrangement

The communique reads in full:

Communique issued by the General Assembly of Ebrutu All Progressive Congress (APC) issued Friday 11th January, 2019

We have followed with keen interest the political permutations of our Great Party regarding the zoning of elective offices in our local government and observe with regret the manner in which the last primaries into elective offices were prearranged to favour all the candidates from former constituency 1 inspite of the fact that our sons and daughters aspired/contested all the available elective offices.

In addition the General Assembly observed that all current political appointees at the Federal level are from the same constituency 1 of Odukpani Local Government Area.

Before the last Primaries, the state Chapter recognised the leadership
Offiong Honesty led exco in Odukpani Local Government  chapter.

But as the political terrian became more slippery, the then chairman Mr. Offiong Honesty resigned thereby leaving the leadership of Odukpani exco on Mr Nya Inyang which happens to be an Ebrutu son which some of the candidates have refused to recognise and work with.

In view of the aforementioned, the Ebrutu General Assembly of the APC, arising from an extraordinary meeting on Friday, 11th of January 2019 resolved as follows:

1. To deliver en-bloc votes to President muhammadu Buhari and his vice Professor Yemi Osibanjo in the forthcoming general elections.
