Don't ask us to Wait 4 more years while C'River Is being destroyed -Eyo Ekpo

Mr. Eyo Ekpo, the gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) In Cross River State, has stated that he will not stand and watch as Cross River state is destroyed because of those who have a problem with where he is from.

Ekpo held that those who have the good of the state at heart will encourage whoever is coming out to contest to rescue the state from the hands of those who are holding it captive.

Ekpo maintained that competence and the ability to deliver good governance to Cross Riverians should be what people should look at for as they head to the poll in 2019 rather than focus on where he is or not from.

Ekpo who barred his mind while speaking at an event organized by the Efik Leadership Foundation (ELF) in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, added that the place for the debating of ideas doesn't exist in the current administration as the governor has surrounded himself with an army of 'Yes-men'.

Ekpo further encouraged the EFL to continue with the good work of promoting the language and culture of the Efiks, advising them to partner with 'moneyed and connected' sons of the land to actualize their dream.

Earlier speaking,  Senator Bassey Ewa-Henshaw praised the foundation for the good work they are doing but challenged them to do more in encouraging the Efiks to embrace their 'efikness' and identify with their people and tradition.

The Efik Leadership Foundation (ELF) is a vibrant pan Efik non-governmental organization (NGO) that champions the cause of the Efik people, particularly as it affects community building and national development.
