I am still the authentic governorship candidate, says Owan Enoh

The factional gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Cross River State, for the forthcoming general elections, Sen. John Owan Enoh has reiterated that he is still the authentic governorship candidate  of his party.

Owan Enoh who made this know through a press statement issued by is campaign spokes person Mr. Dan Amor, reacted to the news going round in respect of a court judgement delivered yesterday where a Federal High court sitting in Calabar declared Pastor Usani Usani and all other candidates filed in by the Etim John led factional exco of the party as the party's authentic guber candidates for the 2019 general elections.

Reacting to this, Owan presented three reasons in a bid to invalidate the judgment of the high court while validating his position as the authentic governorship candidate of the APC in Cross River.

PRESS RELEASE

The Purported Federal High Court, Calabar Judgment On Cross River APC

The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, has been drawn to a purported judgment delivered by the Federal High Court, Calabar, seeking to enforce an earlier controversial ruling of a Bwari, Abuja High Court that recognised the Etim John's factional the state executive council of the party and directing the withdrawal of the candidates of the late state chairman, Dr. Matthew Achigbe, from state/federal assemblies to governorship, from the 2019 general elections, and wishes to state as follows:

1. That the Bwari, Abuja High Court ruling has since been appealed by the defendant in the Appeal Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja pending hearing.

2. That the claimant, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani had sought an Abuja High Court sitting in Apo, FCT, to declare him the governorship candidate of the APC in our state and his case summarily dismissed by the court presided over by Justice Adeniyi on January 7, 2019 on the following grounds:
(a). Usani's case was full of contradictory claims and forgeries.
(b). Usani's affidavit in support of originating summons was unreliable.
(c). Usani was not found to be an aspirant and his case not justiciable in tandem with the laws of the country.
(d). That the Etim John's supervised primary was illegal and contrary to the party's constitution and guidelines for primaries.

3. That the primary which produced our candidates for the general election (from state assembly, National Assembly and governorship) was a Direct Primary conducted by the National Working Committee of the party as stipulated by the party's constitution, as against the Etim John's primary conducted by a state faction.

We therefore see the purported judgment reportedly delivered today by the Federal High Court sitting in Calabar as an unnecessary distraction which cannot stand in law. The judgement is either bought and promoted by Gov. Ben Ayade who is visibly frightened by the looming presence of Sen. John Owan Enoh in the governorship race in the state or is a fabrication. Or else, why would the Government House, Calabar issue a press release claiming and promoting what is practically unrealistic? Is Gov. Ayade a party to any candidature tussle with John Owan Enoh?

In a related development, the campaign of of senator John Owan Enoh released another statement accusing the incumbent governor of the state of peddling the rumour of Owan Enoh's dismissal by the court. The statement further noted that the mumentum created by Owan Enoh's campaign trail in the state "has sent jitters down the spines of Governor Ben Ayade who has practically nothing to show the electorate for his four years in the saddle."

While emphasising the authenticity of Sen. John Owan Enoh as the authentic candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial elections the APC noted that Pastor Usani Uguru Usani lacks the equanimity to accept defeat and should be arrested for flouting series of court orders, while questioning why Usani has refused to tendered his resignation from office as minister of Niger Delta Affairs 30 days to the election as stated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, if he truly believes he is a candidate?

PRESS RELEASE

OWAN ENOH REMAINS CROSS RIVER STATE APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE FOR THE MARCH 2ND ELECTION

This is to inform the All Progressives Congress, APC, faithful in Cross River State, supporters of Sen. John Owan Enoh and the general public that the purported Federal High Court Calabar judgment did not invalidate the candidacy of Senator John Owan Enoh as the APC standard bearer for Cross River State in the March 2, 2019 governorship election.

Sen. John Owan Enoh remains the candidate of the party. The government of Cross River is the institution spreading fake news to misinform the public and distract Sen. Owan Enoh because of the mumentum his campaign trail has created in the state which has sent jitters down the spines of Governor Ben Ayade who has practically nothing to show the electorate for his four years in the saddle. The Governor's office issued a Press Release this afternoon to misinform the public as though Owan Enoh and Ben Ayade are contesting the candidacy of the same political party.

Ayade's desperation is borne out of the fact that his days in the Governor's office are numbered as his achievements are only found on billboards and posters. Sen. John Owan Enoh remains the governorship candidate of APC in Cross River State as the primary through which he emerged was duly conducted by the National Working Committee of the party as stipulated by the party's constitution and not through state faction.

Pastor Usani Uguru Usani who lacks the equanimity to accept defeat is the one who should be arrested for flouting series of court orders. If Usani sees himself as a candidate for any elective position, why has he not tendered his resignation from office as minister of Niger Delta Affairs 30 days to the election as stated in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

Sen. Owan Enoh cannot be distracted from his rescue mission of a state mismanaged and raked aground by four years of Ayade's serial leadership gaffes.
