March 9th Election was a rape on Democracy, Owan cries out

....Rejects poll results in C'River state

The factional gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Cross River State has cried foul over the Saturday's Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Cross River state stating that the election was a clear rape of democracy.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the factional state chairman of the All Progressive Congress in the state, Mr. John Ochala, who said the election witnessed a day light robbery of collective will and mandate of Cross Riverians, lead by the PDP state government in active connivance with the INEC and security operatives.

The statement also alleged the killings of several members and supporters of the APC across the state despite the civic and responsible manner which they conducted themselves.

The party further said it was rejecting the outcome of the elections citing the following as reasons:

1. Discrepancies of all sort
2. Its State Secretary was held hostage         by the military.
3. Deputy Governorship Candidate was also held hostage through out the exercise by the Military and was denied movement in his unit.
4. Violence against our members was           massive.
5. Some of our members were even killed for attempting to resist irregularities.

The press statement reads in full;
