Betta water, as DG commissions water project in Etim Osam community donated by Akwa-Cross

In line with the Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade's vision for Cross River state, to ensure Cross Riverians have access to clean and safe water as well as revitalize Primary Health care in the state, the Akwa- Cross Organization of Oregon and Washington states in the United States of America has supported the water project at Etim Osam PHC as part of their contributions to PHC revitalization. 




The DG of Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Betta Edu who was there on the behalf of the Governor of Cross River state, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade to receive and commission the project, thanked the Akwa-Cross Organization for their contribution and kind gesture towards the improvement of health care in the state.


Dr. Edu She while commending the Etim Osam community for re-electing Senator Ben Ayade as Governor, promised that the community will experience more improvement as the Governor is committed to making Cross River better in every facet. She appreciated their support to the health sector promising that more health workers will be employed by the Governor to work at their facility and boast services.


While handing over the project to Dr. Edu for commissioning, Mr. Essien, representative of the Akwa-Cross Organisation in the state, said as part of their community development services, the organisation seeks to assist communities with peculiar needs within Akwa Ibom and Cross River States to assist. Mr. Essien however promised to extend their gesture to more communities within the two sister states even as he lauded the efforts of the state government especially in the health sector, which he said is doing tremendously well.


He also used the opportunity to call on individuals, business, and corporate organisations to assist government as he observed " Government cannot do it all.


" I want to call on Individuals private individuals and organizations to assist in the development of our communities, we must help improve things in our communities  as government alone cannot not do it all. Today, we are happy to support Etim ASAM community, where one of our member comes from with this project even as we promise to do more".


In his response, the village head of the community, his Royal Highness Etim Okon took out time to thank the Akwa- Cross team for remembering home and coming back to improve the community by providing water which he said is life. He said the water will not only serve the primary health center but will also serve the community.



The Head of the Local Government, and other senior Health workers in the Local government as well as the villagers we all there in their numbers to witness the event.
