Following the dissolution of Boards by Governor Ben Ayade, the Executive Chairman Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB), Dr Stephen Odey has officially handed over to the Director of Administration, Emmanuel Ojong.

While extending gratitude to the Governor on behalf of the other Board Members, Dr Odey thanked him for giving them an opportunity to serve. He described their tenure as impactful despite challenges.

According to him "we may not have been the best, we may not have achieved all we set out to achieve, but at the very least it will not be said that we have not made a mark here.  We will be remembered for the employment of 2,500 teaching and non-teaching staff, the personnel audit exercise to rid the system of ghost workers and quacks, the execution of the highest number of projects ever witnessed in any administration and a host of other achievements."

He further thanked Board Members and Heads of Departments for their unwavering support and unity, he said all the Board's achievements would not have been possible without them.

While charging Heads of Departments to continue to carry out their responsibilities diligently and for the growth of the Board, he advised the Director of Administration to handle sensitive matters with care and to uphold the unity in the Board.

Responding, the Director of Administration, Emmanuel Ojong thanked the outgoing Chairman for giving them the opportunity to work with him, describing the experience as a wonderful one.

Ojong also stated that due to Dr Odey's records and achievements, he is optimistic that Governor Ben Ayade will bring him back to the Board to continue his good works.
