The Chairman, Conference
of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP in Cross River state, Mr. Sunday Michael has
described the outgone Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Cross River
State Dr. Frankland Briyai as an outstanding leader.
Michael made this position
known Thursday during the send forth party organized by staff of the INEC in
Calabar on behalf of Dr. Frankland, who announced his resignation from INEC to answer
the call of his people to serve them as governor of Bayelsa state.
Michael noted that Dr.
Frankland was the only REC who was able to carry all political parties in the
state along during the elections, he stated that it is only in Cross River
state that only one political party contested the outcome of the elections in court,
this, he said is a result of Frankland’s transparent and pragmatic leadership style.
Mr. Sunday Michael who was
also the gubernatorial candidate of Independent Democrats, ID, in the recently concluded
general election said that the CNPP in Cross River state will support Dr.
Frankland’s gubernatorial ambition with the printing of his campaign posters.
Michael noted that, the gesture will send a message to Bayelsans that if non
Bayelsans are supporting Frankland’s ambition, then they need to rally round
their son and ensure he wins the election.
