A gentle reminder: Burgess writes Ayade on the deplorable state of Idomi road

A GENTLE  REMINDER TO HIS EXCELLENCY SIR, SEN, PROF. BENEDICT  AYADE. THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF CROSS RIVER STATE.

Your Excellency, I will not always forget to appreciate your good works for the good people of Cross River state. Expressing words of thanks, they said "is not only good manners, but the right thing to do." Because it validates the actions of the person that helped you.

The world is a better place because there are always people like you out there helping others, people like you helping our state to grow, people like you always trying to make Cross River state a better place to live.

Whether it's through their actions or comments, these folks deserve our thanks. You truly deserve our thanks sir. Saying thank you may not repay the good things you've done for our state, and I know more are yet to come, it can certainly go a long way. Whenever someone does or says something positive for you, make sure to express your appreciation. I sincerely appreciate you our amiable governor.

Your excellency sir, on 19th of September 2018 I made a publication here drawing your attention to the deplorable state of IDOMI UGEP AND ADIM ROAD for an urgent attention to be given on fixing the road. But until now sir, attention has not been given to this effect.

Well, I quite understand that during this period you were seriously preparing for the elections, this is why I've decided to take this time again to remind you, having successfuly scaled through the race for the second time. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ONCE AGAIN SIR.  I hope this time something would be done about it.

Sir, recalled that last year the road suddenly  became a major rout  to many motorists traveling to Abuja and other places due to the ongoing construction of curlvets at Adim Ugep road.

This regular diversion through Adim Idomi and Ugep road badly affected the road causing numerous deadly potholes that have rendered the road deplorable. And as I speak right now, those potholes have now become almost like gutters making the road uneasy to access. Imagine driving almost an hour on the Adim Idomi road. This is how bad that road has become.

Sir, I sincerely appeal that you look into the situation of this deplorable conditions of this road and do something very urgent about it to avoid returning to the state it was before the former governor, His Excellency Sen. Liyel Imoke intervened to grade and tard it.  it wasn't a friendly experience and we don't wish to go back to that state again especially in this your dispensation.

Idomi has no other better road than that, there's no ring road, the Adim Idomi and Ugep road serves a dual purpose for the people of Idomi; (major and ring road). Sir, if it goes totally bad to a state where it will no longer be accessible it will be a big failure to your administration, and a big frustration to the people of Idomi. Because travelling out of Idomi will always be a big challenge, and also considering the fact that Idomi is your second home after your home town.

Idomi has not always been privileged to enjoying the basic social amenities. We have the poorest electricity supply in Idomi, we get to see light sometimes once in a month, yet the people still pay NEPA BILL at the end of the month.

We have over 3 overhead tanks in Idomi, yet our people still go the streams to fetch water, in this 21st century, this is a very bad report sir, and it is unheard of. The overhead tanks are just there like monuments without circulating water.

When are we ever going to enjoy these things that others are enjoying in their communities? Are we not entitled to these good things? Our voting strength keeps increasing yet the government keeps depriving us of these basic social amenities, we even pay our taxes, yet we are deprived of these things. What have we ever done to deserve this?

Our leaders in the community are doing their very best, but they can't do all these things alone without the help of the state government. Water and road projects are not projects that can be handled at their level.

I'm calling on Senator Sandy Ojang Onor, Hon. John Gul and all well meaning Cross Riverians to come join hands with state governor to come to our aid. Idomi needs help.

Sir, we need a good water system in Idomi. Even if you can't give us any other thing, please give us good water and good road in Idomi.

I sincerely hope this humble request be considered as we look forward to your quick response.
Thank you your EXCELLENCY.

My name is DANIEL
I am a son of Idomi
