Prince Otu @ 60: group hold Mass, visit orphanage on his behalf [PHOTO]

A group known as Friends of Prince Otu took it upon themselves to mark the 60th birthday of a one time senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria representing Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu. 

As part of the event, the group paid a visit to the Infant Jesus Orphanage Home at Bateba Street Calabar, where they presented some gift items worth thousands of Naira. Speaking at the event, the spokes person for the group Elder Bassey Offiong Bassey said it has been a tradition for the group to reach out to the downtrodden on the senator's birthday, stating that it is a way of re-echoing the nature and personality of Prince Otu whom he described as a perfect gentleman whose passion in politics is to give back to the society. 

In her response, the Rev. Sister in charge of the home, Sis Christiana, expressed joy and happiness for the items presented, stating that it will go a long way in putting smiles on the faces of the children in the home, she however, called on the public imbibe the attitude of Prince Otu which she said took it upon himself to regularly visit the home with gift items. 

Also to mark the day, a special mass service was held at Sacred Heart Cathedral of the Catholic Church, Egerton street Calabar, where prayers were offered for the Celebrant. 

The day was crowned with a well attended get together even as family, friends, and supporters poured encomiums on the sweet Prince
