Ayade dissolves anti-deforestation task-force, sends strong message to HOLGAS

According to a press statement signed by Mr. Christian Ita, Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Media and Publicity, the state governor has with immediate effect dissolved the state's 
anti-deforestation task-force. 

Consequently, the governor has in the interim set up a new task-force made up of the 18 Heads of Local Government Administration in the state. The task-force is to be headed by Dr. Odey Oyama. 

Accordingly, the governor gave strict warnings to all HOLGAS to ensure 
illegally logged woods do not pass through their local government area else they face termination from the local government service.

The statement reads in full:

Gov Ayade dissolved anti-deforestation task-force, appoints interim committee

The state governor, His Excellency Sir Ben Ayade has approved the dissolution of the state anti-deforestation task-force with immediate effect.

Consequently, His Excellency has approved the appointment of an interim task-force to enforce the anti-deforestation policy of the government.

The new interim task-force has Dr. Odey Oyama as chairman with the 18 Heads of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) as members.

It should be noted that any HOLGA that allows illegally logged woods to pass through his or her local government area, faces termination from the local government service.
