C'River lawmaker buries dad in style and elegance

A member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, who speaks for the good people of Abi in the floor of the house, Hon. (Dr.) Davies Etta, over the weekend laid the remains of his dad, Chief Eta Enyi Ofem to rest amidst celebration and jubilation.

The Funeral and Thanksgiving Ceremony which could best be described as a celebration of life saw the gathering of major players in the political scene of Cross River State even as they  converged in the little village of Ebom, in Abi Local Government Area of Cross River State. 

Members of the Cross River State House of Assembly led by Rt. Hon. Eteng Jonah Williams were seen in their numbers during week long event, Engr. Ben. Akak, Hon. Farathor Robinson, Political giants in Abi and, the PDP family in Abi LGA as well as Chiefs and leaders of Ediba and Afafanyi communities, Several former and present Appointees of government, traditional rulers friends and family members both from within and outside the country were all in Ebom in their numbers to give their last respect to the late Chief Eta Enyi Ofem who passed on at the age of 84 years. 

According to Dr. Davies Etta second son of the deceased and the lawmaker representing Abi State House constituency, while reading his father's biography, asid the late chief Eta Enyi Ofem left behind 13 children, 34 grand children and 4 great grand children. 

The event which began with the opening of Mourning House on Wednesday 21st November climaxed Sunday 25th November with a Thanksgiving Service at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Ebom Parish.
