C'Riverian, Eric Akpo receives continental award [PICTURES]

A Cross Riverian and former aide to Governor Ben Ayade, Architect Eric Akpo has been honored at the African Youth Summit as a Youth Global Icon for the year 2019. TDN can authoritatively report. 

The summit which held at the Bolingo Hotels and Towers in Abuja, 30th November, 2019 was put together by Diamond Youth(DYTI) and Nigerian Youth Decide(NYD) with the main objective of bringing representatives of diaspora youth platforms/organizations to present their views to Africans on critical issues on how to move the continent forward with emphasis on Economy, Education and Leadership.

Eric who honored along side prominent Nigerians such as Rochas Okorocha, Ifaenyi Okowa, Yakubu Ibn Mohammed etc is the immediate past SA technical with a direct responsibility of seeing to the fulfillment of the state government's key project - Super Highway the deep seaport. 

Eric's profile reads thus: 

Architect Eric-Williams Akpo is the immediate past Special Adviser Technical to the Governor of Cross River State of Nigeria. He has been 
through a number of schools in his formative years before proceeding to The Polytechnic Calabar (now CRUTECH) where he obtained both OND and HND qualifications in Architecture. He later obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Environmental Law and Policy from the University of North 
Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA via Cousera. He has also concluded studies for the award of a Masters Degree in 
Architecture with Atlantic International University, AIU.

Eric is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a Fellow of 
the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC). Mr. Akpo has a broad working experience having worked in the private sector as an Architect with Kostarget Projects Ltd, Lagos and as a Relationship Officer with the defunct 
Intercontinental Bank Plc. in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He has also been a Senior Legislative Aide to the then

Distinguished Senator Professor Benedict Ayade while he represented the Cross River North Senatorial District at the National Assembly in Abuja. In the Public Service, Arc. Eric Akpo is presently a Senior Technical Officer with the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency, NOSDRA. He has 
been on Leave of Absence since June, 2015 as he was called to bring his experience to bear in the service of the State as Special Adviser Technical to His Excellency Senator Professor 
Benedict Ayade. 

He also seats in the Cross River State Debt Review and Project Development Commission, CRSDRPDC as a 

An easy-going man, simple and down to earth, appropriately described as meek and humble of heart, Eric-Williams has 
gained a lot of social exposure being a member, multi-board member and Local Organization President of the Junior 
Chamber International, JCI a worldwide organization of young active citizens who are conglomerated with a focus on
creating a positive change.He believes in the philosophy that "Government should be of laws rather than of men" and that 
"economic justice can best be won by free men through free 

He has a unique affinity for young people, ever so respondent, to the best of his ability, to the educational and 
social needs of youths who make contact with him. He is a politician and a leader under whose mentorship many youths particularly in Cross River State have gained political relevance serving in different capacities in government.
Born on the 30th of April, 1979, Eric is happily married and blessed with three (3) children. He says… "givers never lack".
