COVID 19 - Nigerian Red Cross donates PPE, Educates Bankers on preventive measures

...says bankers are daily exposed to diverse people

AWKAAs part of its measures to curb the spread of Corona Virus, the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Anambra State Branch has taken the sensitization message on proper hand washing to First Bank of Nigeria PLC., Awka Main Branch, Anambra State. 

Addressing bankers in Awka, the branch health coordinator Mrs Chinwe Lawrence-Uchenna who led the team explained that the decision to take the sensitization to the banking institution was strategic as the bankers on a daily basis come in contact with diverse kind of people and especially during the lock down period observed globally.

According to her, people easily find time to visit the bank to make some withdrawals for their daily upkeep thereby deposing the bankers.

 She further enlighten the participants on the preventive measures to imbibe in order to be free from contracting the corona virus. 

Also, in his remark, the Communication Coordinator of Nigerian Red Cross Society Anambra State Mr Fidelis Ikeji explained that Red Cross as a humanitarian organisation with the mandate to alleviate the sufferings of the most vulnerable in the society has been at the fore front in carrying out hygiene promotion messages even before the breakout of the pandemic was determined to ensure that trainings are carried out more this time that the world need it the most.

The event featured practical sessions on best ways to use the face mask, hand gloves and practical session on proper hand washing which was demonstrated by  Staff including the Branch Manager of First Bank  Mrs. Nwamaka Adimorah.

High point of the event was presentation of hygiene promotion materials(Personal Protective Equipment, PPE) to the bank which included a hand washing bucket and hand sanitizers received by Mr Christian Ogbonna the Relationship Manager of First Bank of Nigeria Awka Main branch.
