In his letter of condolence addressed to Rt. Hon. (Chief) Orok Duke, Sen. Akpabio captures Late Prince Otu Duke as a resourceful politician who believed in the unity of Nigeria. Sen. Akpabio further describes him as a nationalist with forthrightness and candour.

Sen. As a grassrooter, the contributions of Late Prince Otu Duke could not have escape his notice as he captures it all by addressing Late Prince Otu Duke as a patriot who lived a life of service to Humanity. He became Vice Chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Special Assistant Media and Special Adviser on Waste Management respectively to Governor Ben Ayade.
