We've come to plant seeds of restoration for a new Bakassi - Leader

It is an undeniable truth that the people of Bakassi Local Government Area have gone through a lot in the past 2 decades as a result of the ceding of their country home to Cameron. 

As the new legislative council kicks off its activities, the leader of the council has charged his colleagues to brace up to the challenge of restoring the glory Bakassi. Speaking during his inaugural speech immediately after his emergence as leader of the council, Pastor Emmanuel Michael Effiong noted that as lawmakers in the grassroots, there's need to synergies, take back their voices and somounts challenges while giving the people a renewed hope of a refined Bakassi.

"Our mission as a legislature is very clear to come together and take back our voice, challenge our challenges and plant the seed of hope and a new dream of a refreshed Bakassi local government area." He said. 

Speaking Further, the lawmaker mentioned that the present condition of the people of Bakassi is a picture of a people who have been frustrated, denied of the right to liberty and justice and entangled with poverty. He therefore, called on his colleagues to  partner with him in delivering the dividends of democracy  the people. 

The statement reads in part.

"..If we put all our challenges and frustrations in a bottle, shake it very properly and pour out the content, what we will see is a picture of a people denied their voice, entangled in poverty and deprived their rights to justice, liberty and prosperity. 

I humbly demand partnership from you all to enable us to deliver dividends of democracy which is embedded in the hands of democratically elected Representatives to the good and hardworking people of Bakassi local government area.

Today we are together as a council to the glory of God the giver of life and power. we have come to plant seeds of resolutions for restoration through our motions, bills and enabling laws,we have come to rebuild the Ark of Noah and refill it with all the good things of life.

I am prepared to take your counsel to enhance the growth and development of our dear local government."

Hon. (Pst.) Emmanuel Effiong used the opportunity to appreciate his colleagues for finding worthy to be their leader while felicitating the Executive Chairman Hon. Iyadim on the occasion of his assumption of office.
