Ettah Felicitates Ebom and Bahumono Nation over Festival of Peace

The member representing Abi state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Davies Etta has sent a heartfelt message to the Bahumono Extraction of Abi Local Government area with particular reference to the Ebom community as they celebrate the 2020 New Yam Festival tagged Festival of Peace.

The lawmaker in a statement appreciated the good people of Bahumono for their support during the recently achieved peace pact amongst member communities within the Bahumono Nation stating that their support and prayers made it possible for peace to be restored after 14 years of warring amongst themselves. He, therefore, admonished that the peace pact is honored and sustained as insecurity and crisis will only hinder development and growth within the Bahumono nation. 

He further encouraged the Ebom community to ensure a hitch-free celebration, stating that it is only normal to return to God the giver of harvest for Thanksgiving after a successful harvest. 

"If the God of harvest has blessed you with a bounty harvest, it will be an act of ingrate not to return to him for Thanksgiving, therefore, the New Yam Festival is normal and the right thing to do." The lawmaker stated. 

Hon. Davies used the opportunity to wish Ebom Community and the Entire Bahumono Nation a peaceful New Yam Festival Celebration. 

The Festival which is slated for Saturday, 29th August will feature exciting activities such as Wrestlings, Dances, Harvest Display, Masquerades, etc. According to the chairman of the Festival Planning Committee, Hon. Collins Enyievi, neighboring communities such as Usumotong, Ediba, Afafanyi, Egonigoni, etc have all been invited. 

"The Festival is a landmark celebration because we as a Nation, that is the entire Bahumono Communities will be making a statement with this event, we are using this particular festival to tell the entire world that Peace is possible as the Bahumono Nation now live in peace. That is why we have tagged it Festival of Peace."

"We have made all necessary arrangement t have a successful event. It's going to be a big celebration, Other villages around us have been invited, they will all be coming with their various masquerades, dances, and wrestlers. There will be enough to eat and drink. We are using this medium to invite our friends all over the world to Ebom and experience world-class undiluted African Festival". He concluded.
