More trouble for Ayade as C'River PDP Chapter Chairmen petition Edim Inok

Ukorebi Esien | 27th August 2020

PDP chapter Chairmen in Cross River state have written a petition against the state Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Hon. Edim Inok to the National Chairman of the Party demanding he is called to order to recognize them as the authentic chapter chairmen. TDN authoritatively reports.

In their petition to the National Working Committee of the party, the chairmen who had formed themselves into a group called Forum of Local Government Chairmen said the caretaker chairman, Edim Inok has vowed not to recognize or work with them as authentic chairmen of the party in their various Chapters but prefers working with his faction of fake Local Government chairmen, even after the NWC had ratified their authenticity.

According to a letter dated 25th August and signed by some of the Local Government chairmen, they enumerated instances where Inok demonstrated his decision in action, notably amongst those instances was on the 24th of August 2020 where he walked them out of a meeting held in the state secretariat of the party when they attended a meeting meant for the party's Chapter executives, with the reasons that the NWC can not decide the party structures in the state. They also listed out instances where party meetings that concerns them were called and they were represented by the fake chairmen from Edim's faction of the party without their consent.

The ward chairmen, therefore, called on the NWC to come to their aide by causing Edim Inok to recognize them as the authentic ward and local government executive using the same fiat they used in pronouncing Edim Inok as Chairman Caretaker Committee even after his tenure had elapsed. Stating that they wouldn't hesitate to seek redress in court when the party's internal structure fails them.
