The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria known as YOWICAN has inaugurated a new exco to pilot the affairs of it's Cross River State Chapter today.

The inauguration held in Calabar saw Pastor Obia Ikika inaugurated as the State Chairman alongside an array of vibrant young men and women to pilot the affairs of YOWICAN.

The ceremony which featured award presentation and investiture of patrons

In his acceptance speech, Pastor Ikika said he is ready to reposition YOWICAN by building on the foundation already laid by the Eyo Boco's outcome administration. He said addressing youth restiveness through empowerment programs will be the fulcrum of his administration. He said his first assignment is to form a synergy in the body of Christ by bringing youths from all denominations together. This will bring unity and collaboration where the Church can speak with one voice.

Speaking to newsmen, Brother Eyo Boco's immediate past Chairman of the Organisation said he was grateful to God for a successful tenure, according to him, "I came here to meet nobody but today you can see the crowd, I only have God to thank. He has given me a successful tenure."

Speaking about his successor, Eyo expressed optimism that Pastor Ikika will make a good Chairman for the Organization stating that bringing his already built wealth of experience as the leader of one of the blocs that make up CAN Ikika will do very well with God seeing him through.

In his remarks, the State Chairman of Christain Association of Nigeria, Cross River State chapter, Rev. O. B. Ekpenyong, assured the newly sworn-in Executive of maximum support, advising them to be committed and give their all the work while not expecting anything in return.

Rev. Ekpenyong observed that Ayade' s government is the most friendly government stating that, the governor had created a good working relationship with the Church and have also maintained a listening ear for the church.

However, the man of God took a swipe at the recently accented bill called CAMA act. Stating that the destiny of Nigeria is not the hands of politicians but God. He queried how the Creature will ask the creator to bow to it?

He insisted the Act won't see the light of the day while asking the church to remain calm.
