Ayade's aide provides access road to 5 communities in C'River after 25 years without road

About 5 villages in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State that have stayed for over 25 years without access road have been visited with access road by the Commissioner for Rural Development, Hon. Edem Okokon Effiom. 

The Commissioner said, he embarked on the Community Development effort of providing access road to the villages in Akpabuyo as part of his personal effort to ensure the people feel the dividends of democracy. Stating that the villagers had been walking on track roads in the last 25years without an accessible road. He noted that he couldn't have done it alone without the support of the governor who is so passionate about the rural dwellers and their wellbeing.

In Resonating with the ideals of his principal, Hon. Effiom in a personal efforts graded over 6km stretch of roads covering Five villages in Akpabuyo. The villages include, Ikot Eniti in Effanga Offiong Ward, Ikot Effiong, Ikot Ekpo, Etonkpe and Atim Asang all in Atimbo ward.

While taking journalists round the six kilometers graded road, Mr. Effiom said that he is doing this out of his desire to make his people feel the impact of inclusive governance, and because of the support his community gave to this administration in the last election.

Speaking to journalist, the clan head of Akwa Ikot Effanga Offiong, HRH Nyong Okon Edem maintained that Honourable Okokon Effiom has been God sent to the people of this community, he said he was full of appreciation to the Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade and Mr. Edem Okokon Effiom for what they have done. He noted that for over 25years, this is the first time a bulldozer has entered his community to do grading of its kind.
