COVID-19 Second Wave: Group, applauds Obiano's proactive steps, sensitise members on protocols

AWKA: As the world continues to battle with the second wave of the Coronavirus, President of Akwa Ibom Community Anambra State Chapter, Akparawa Edet Solomon has applauded the government of Anambra State for its proactive measures in combating the virus ensuring there is minimal cases registered in the state. 

Akparawa Solomon who was addressing members of the Akwa Ibom community during it's monthly general meeting held in Awka also enjoined the general public to adhere to COVID-19 protocols in order to survive the second wave of the pandemic.

According to him COVID -19 is a reality  which has disrupted the day-to-day lives of people all over the world. Stating that the fact that the state is yet to record a case doesn't mean the Covid19 does not exist.

" I want to let all Akwaibomite and Anambrarians to know that of a truth COVID-19 was a reality. I know there's much doubt about he existence of the virus amongst us due to the fact that the state have not recorded much cases. But that doesn't take away the reality of the virus."

He employed all Akwa Ibomites living in the state to adhere strictly to government directives by wearing their face mask while in public places, washing their hands frequently, maintaining social distancing and avail themselves for test to certify them COVID-19 free.

Also, the President applauded the level of compliance to safety protocols installed by Gov. Willie Obiano and Ministry of Health to ensure that there was no upsurge of Coronavirus in the State.

However, members of the community were further sensitized on COVID-19 Measures.

In their separate remarks, Rev. Aniekan Abarah BOT Member Akwaibom Community and Barr. Okon Moses advised members of the public to be safety conscious and obey all measures put in place to protect themselves.
