Breaking: Gov Ben Ayade of Cross River defects to APC

The Governor of Cross River State, Sir, Benedict Ayade has finally dumped the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC). TDN can authoritatively report.

Ayade made this known moments ago at the Executive Council chambers of the Governor's office in Calabar.
The meeting which had several APC bigwigs across the country present saw the governor officially declaring for the All Progressives Congress.

The APC National Caretaker, Governor Mai Mala Buni, Governors Kayode Fayemi and Hope Uzodinma as well as Minister for State, Petroleum, Timipre Sylva were among those present.

The governor who has faced severe challenges with members of the National Assembly from the State led to his losing the party structure during the ward and local government congress where the party grassroot leaders were elected.

Accordingly, his move is expected to alter the political permutations as to who succeeds him in 2023.

In a swift reaction, members of the National Assembly from the State are said to have called for a meeting in Abuja where they would count the eggs in their nest to know who is still with the and further re-strategies.
