Mrs. Obiano, leads Anambra Women to Pray for Peace in Nigeria

AWKA - Wife of the  Governor of Anambra State and founder of Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE), Dr. Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano on Saturday led women from various religious groups and works of life in the state to pray for  peace and security in Nigeria as according to her, it was the only way to attract God's grace.

Speaking at the special prayer service held in Aguleri, Anambra East LGA, Mrs. Obino noted that the prayer session 
was at the instance of the First Lady of Federal Republic of Nigeria,  Dr. Mrs. Aisha Muhammad Buhari organized under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors' Wives Forum.

According to her,  it was imperative in view of the challenges confronting the country for mothers to rise and seek the face of God and His intervention to restore peace and security across the nation.

 "The spate of insecurity across the country, unsavory occurrences, and increasing loss of lives  call for prayers to God to restore peaceful coexistence among Nigerians". 

Mrs. Obiano averred that, mothers occupy vantage position in the family and able to understand the activities of the children men and condone excesses of everyone, stating that God has answered the prayers of mothers while calling for prayers to be sustained beyond the special session, into the family. 

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, said that Mrs. Obiano's call for prayer was timely.

She described her call as a mother who understands when her family was facing setbacks and therefore seeks God's intervention and protection.

The hour long prayers featured Anambra women comprising of different groups and denominations as well as non-indigines prayed who took turn to pray for peace in Nigeria, violent free Guber elections on 6th November 2021 in the state, blessings from God and protection of families.

The prayer Session was attended by the wife of All Progressives Grand Alliance Candidate for the coming governorship elections in the State, Mrs Nonye Soludo.

Women religious, socio-cultural and political groups participated actively in the prayers.
