TROMPCON National Chairman Receives High Praise


Okpe leaders on Monday described Orhue 1, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom as a blessing to Nigeria.

They also praised the Okpe monarch for playing an enviable role in bringing about sustainable peace in West Africa.


A statement by the Okpe Union National Executive Council commended traditional rulers of oil mineral producing communities in Nigeria for electing the Orodje of Okpe as national chairman.

''The National Executive Council of the Okpe Union expresses, on behalf of the members and branches of the union nationally and the Diaspora, our profound gratitude to the traditional rulers of the Niger Delta and other oil producing kingdoms under the auspices of the Association of Traditional Rulers of Oil and Mineral Producing Communities of Nigeria (TROMPCON) on their election of the Orodje of Okpe as the National Chairman of the body''.

The statement signed by the President General , Okpe Union, Prof. Igho Natufe, and the General Secretary, Mr. Akpederin Kingsley praised the Okpe monarch for his commitment to the service of Nigeria and his peace making strides in Delta State.

''We are particularly impressed that our revered traditional leaders all over the oil producing regions of the country were able to appreciate the sterling leadership and administrative qualities of His Royal Majesty, Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe, to elect him to this strategic office in these trying times of our nation''.

 The statement stressed that Orhue 1 had contributed immensely to the development of the Niger Delta region.

''With his administrative acumen, Orhue I has ensured peace and stability of the Okpe Nation for well over a decade now. In addition to this, we believe that the wealth of experience of His Royal Majesty in military coordination in the country during his service years as a general in the Nigerian Army gives him unique security insights in the area of affording advice to the political leaders in respect to the security of the states of the region generally and in the oil production sector''.

The leaders also pledged to support Orhue 1 in his new assignment.

 '' As the Okpe Union congratulates His Royal Majesty, Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe on his election, we pray the Almighty God who alone grants leadership offices, to grant him the wisdom, good health and wherewithal to excel in the new assignment''.
