NSCDC partner NHRC in fight against human rights violation

 AWKA - Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Anambra State Command has pledged strong commitment to support  National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in its work to deliver on its statutory mandate.

Addressing the Agency in his office the State Commandant of NSCDC Mr. Vincent Ogu made this pledge when he received a delegation from NHRC led by Anambra State Coordinator Mrs. Nkechi Ugwuanyi on a courtesy visit to the Command Headquarters in Awka. 

Mr. Vincent Ogu applauded the team for their determination to address all sort of Human Right violation across the country. He stated that the NSCDC remains a reliable allay in the fight against human rights violation adding that Corps personnel are committed to the promotion, protection and enforcement of human rights in the Country.

Earlier, in her speech, the State Coordinator Mrs Nkechi Ugwuanyi said that the purpose of the visit was to seek areas of collaboration with the Corp stating that the need for partnership and prompt response to cases of human rights violation which she affirmed could not be over emphasized.

However, she admonished the Corp to remain steadfast in ensuring humane treatment of civilians in accordance with International best practices .
