Security Challenge: Why we must Count on Govt Renewed Efforts

All Progressives Congress
Cross River State

Office of the State Publicity Secretary

Against the backdrop of recent kidnapping of a Former Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area,Hon. Chief Ubi Itam Ettah in Ugep and the attendant media hype it has generated against the All Progressives Congress Government in the state, the party wishes to reassure members of the public that hope is not lost of the frantic efforts of the State Government in addressing the security challenge in the state.
It would be recalled that recently the State Government under the leadership of Sen. Ben Ayade has held meetings at different points with Security and Service Chiefs in a bid to nip the challenge in the bud.

Only last week, the Director General of the State Waterways Agency,Hon. Bobby Effiom Ekpenyong made contacts with Security Agencies in the state in a bid to ensure that our waterways are safe for navigation and for businesses to thrive.

These are but a tip of the iceberg of the Government's plan and projections to address issues of insecurity in the state.

While we condemn in totality the recent kidnap of Chief Ettah by dare devil Kidnappers,we reiterate our assurances that the APC Government in the state will leave no stone unturned in ensuring a crime free society in the state.

With this in mind,we also appeal to the State Government to direct the State Police Command and Sister Security Agencies to expedite action towards the immediate rescue of the Former Council Chairman.

The APC again wishes to reassure members of the public that in its people-centred mantra, the party is concerned with ensuring the greater good for the greater number, and will continue to promote and appreciate policies with such goodwill.
